Work on the site is moving along moderately well, I’d say that we’re about 60% done with a real version 1 of the site ready maybe in February sometime.

I’m still working on the internationalization of the application – you’ll notice tonight that there are some new drop-downs in the Fuel Receipt form for quantity, price and odometer — but only US-standard options are available right now. In the near future you’ll be able to select from US-standard to Metric units of measure, as well as a variety of supported currencies. They will be defaulted to the value you select as your profile and vehicle defaults. It will take me a few more daysÂ of work to modify all of theÂ code that is dependant on knowing these units… Â

Also, I’m working on several prototype features – including:

the ability to upload a thumbnail of your vehicle to replace the little green car icon you see now
the ability to importÂ Excel spreadsheets* containing receipt information using .csv file format
the ability to export your receipts to .csv files (Excel) as well as to a .pdf file – so you can get your records out whenever you want
anÂ Excel-spreadsheet-like interface for adding or editingÂ more than one receipt at a time
some slick AJAX features that will speed things up for you
improvements to the various charts (which are currently _very_ basic) including the ability to find “breaks” that happen when a receipt is missing
